Course Description: This course will serve as both an introduction to software development and a tutorial on more advanced topics in Java programming. The former topic is concerned with strategies, tools, and techniques for managing large software projects where no one person is responsible for all of the code. For the latter topic, we will learn about developing Java Enterprise applications, including technologies for server-side applications (webapps). You will also learn about open source software development. The primary work of the course is to contribute to OpenMRS (http://www.openmrs.org), an open-source electronic medical records system.
